Since 1972, then known as Troop 25, this excellent Boy Scouting program has been chartered by the congregation of Mt. View Lutheran Church.
Troop 525 meets every Monday night at 7pm in the gymnasium of the Mt View Lutheran Church, 3505 122nd Avenue East, Edgewood, WA
Sometime in the 1970's or early 1980's the local council made an attempt to signify geographic location by Troop / Unit number. Hence, all Puyallup area units became 3 digits starting with 5.
Troop 525 was originally started / chartered by the good folks at the Edgewood Grange ... around 1945. It's fascinating to read the names of both Scouts and Adults who have been a part of this quality Scouting Troop through the years ... it reads like a 'who's who' of our local communities.
In the late 1950's the Troop became sponsored by the Edgewood Bible Church (adjacent to the Edgewood Grange), and in 1972 the troop asked Mt. View Lutheran if they would be willing to sponsor the troop.
Now with over 150 Eagle Scouts (through the years), and literally thousands of young men who have been involved in the Scouting program, Troop 525 has a well-deserved reputation as one of the most active, best supported, and wonderfully led Boy Scout Troops in Western Washington ... maybe beyond. The list of awards and recognitions is extensive.
If you are looking for an active (outdoor activities, community service and rank advancement opportunities) Boy Scout Troop ... check us out.
By the way: Mt. View Lutheran Church also sponsors Cub Pack 526, Venture Crew 525, and girl's Troop 525GT ... three related Scouting programs which cover the entire range of ages 7 - 21!
